Jeanne Carstensen is a San Francisco based writer and member of the Castro Writers’ Cooperative. She covered the refugee crisis in Lesbos, Greece in 2015 with support from the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting. Jeanne was executive managing editor of The Bay Citizen, which produced the Bay Area pages of the New York Times, and has been an editor at Salon, SFGate.com and the Whole Earth Review. She was a National Arts Journalism Program fellow at Columbia University and her work has appeared in The New York Times, PRI’s The World, Foreign Policy, Nautilus, Salon, and other publications.
